The Tipperary Hill Shamrock Run is a local favorite in Syracuse, New York. Taking place in the Tipperary Hill neighborhood, home of the famed “Green on Top” traffic light, this four-mile course takes runners on a hilly tour of this Irish neighborhood every March before St. Patrick’s Day.
This race was last held in March 2020, literally right before the COVID-19 Pandemic was declared by the World Health Organiziation. It was sorely missed last year when it was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, and 1,937 runners were happy to welcome it back this year on Saturday, March 5, 2022!
Three Full Circle Endurance athletes decided to partake in this year’s race: Lisa Crockford, Dawn O’Shaughnessy, and Tami Stone. All of them used this race as a C-Race in their training calendar, meaning that the race was serving as part of their “regular” training that they would have had anyway that day. Lisa, Dawn, and Tami all had extra mileage and/or workouts that they tacked onto this race to make it a longer workout on the day. They each have bigger A-Races that are imminent, so this C-Race was a nice way to be social and partake in a group event, but also still get in the work that is necessary to do in order to give them the highest probability of successfully achieving the bigger goals that they've set for themselves.
Bravo, Lisa, Dawn, and Tami!
