The winter theme rolls on! This past weekend featured some shorter, winter-themed races!
Snowman Stampede 5K - Littleton, Colorado
On Saturday, February 20, 2022, Jennifer Pearce wrapped up the third in a series of winter-themed 5K races when she ran the Snowman Stampede in Littleton, Colorado!
Jennifer continues to improve her ability to run at a higher cadence comfortably, which is boding really well for her upcoming triathlon season this year! Percentage-wise, she placed higher in her age group than when she ran a similar time/pace just two short months ago!
This is a great example of how numbers (i.e. the absolute finish time on the clock) do not always tell the entire story. There are so many elements that can add up to generate a particular finish time, so judging everything on just that number alone is not always the most helpful.
While her finish time was similar to a 5K two months ago, how Jennifer handled the conditions on Saturday was better compared to her fellow athletes, which led to her having a relatively fast finish time compared to the rest of the field for that particular day.
Well done, Jennifer!
The Orange Course Snowshoe Race - Lacona, New York
Dawn O’Shaughnessy also wrapped up a race series this past weekend when she completed The Orange Course Snowshoe Race in Lacona, New York! Dawn completed The Snowshoe Marathon Series by running several snowshoe races over a period of several weeks.
As always, Dawn had the best hair on the course and she had a ball running with her friends. This was a fun way for Dawn to stay active and outdoors over the Winter season here in Upstate New York!
Congratulations, Dawn!
