Athlete Race Recap: Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon - Washington, D.C., One NY Half Marathon, & Harrisburg Marathon
It was an exciting and strong weekend of racing for Full Circle Endurance athletes! Some of these athletes are on the Performance Coaching option, and others are on the Custom-Built Training Plan option. Each athlete chooses which coaching option is best for them, and it paid off in great results this weekend!
Along with 10,000 other running friends, Leslie ran 13.1 hilly miles through the capital. This marked the first race Leslie has “raced” (i.e. pushed herself at) since before the COVID-19 Pandemic began, and it was quite a triumphant return for her! She ran a strong, steady race and was consistent on her effort and execution for all 13.1 miles.
One NY Half Marathon - Syracuse, New York
On Sunday, November 14, 2021, Julie Matyasik and Tami Stone ran the inaugural One NY Half Marathon in Syracuse, New York!
This race was exciting for the Syracuse running community because it was the first race that loops all of Onondaga Lake using a combination of the Onondaga Lake Park Trails and the newly completed Empire State Trail!
I’m so pleased to report that both Julie and Tami had great experiences at this race. Julie was able to run her longest running event in a VERY long time and finished the 13.1 miles with strength and a smile. Tami was going for a time-based goal and came in close to three minutes under her goal!
Sarah has been following a Custom-Built Training Plan all year with the intent of running a personal best time at the marathon distance. Every three months, we’d tweak her plan to help ensure that she continued to be on track to reach her goal.
Sarah has been putting in a LOT of hard work with her running this year and has made several changes to how she trains over the course of following this Custom-Built Training Plan. I’m so delighted to report that this hard work and patience paid off for Sarah, as she was able to run a marathon on Sunday five minutes faster than she ever has before!

Laura Henry is a Syracuse, NY-based coach who is a USA Triathlon Level II Long Course and Level II Paratriathlon Certified Coach, USA Cycling Level 2 Certified Coach, VFS Certified Bike Fitter, and has successfully completed NASM's Certified Personal Trainer course. Coach Laura is passionate about helping athletes of all ability levels reach their goals and has coached many athletes to success.
