This course is extremely scenic, giving runners views of Pikes Peak, ponderosa pine forests, grasslands, and rolling hills. It’s relatively tame for a mountain trail race, with 531 feet of elevation gain in the 8-mile course. However, all of that elevation gain is in the first five miles of the race (so an average of 100 feet of gain per mile run); the course then shifts to a fast descent back down to the finish.
The day was beautiful, and running trails is one of Jennifer’s favorite things, so it’s no wonder that she was seen smiling while out on the course!
Well done, Jennifer!
