Coach Tip Tuesday is already here again!!
One of my favorite Chinese proverbs is this: “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.”
Raise your hand if you’re guilty of this mindset: “I haven’t done anything fitness-wise in awhile...what’s a few more days/weeks/months??”
My friends, your health and wellness ALWAYS deserves to be a priority in your life. If you take care of you, then that helps you be the best version of you in all other facets of your life - family, work, friends, etc. Do you have a goal that has been on your mind for awhile, but you haven’t pulled the trigger?? Do you still mourn for the version of yourself that existed six years ago before you had kids, had to switch jobs, or before you had to say farewell to a loved one?? Here’s the harsh reality, friends: you can look in the rearview mirror all you want, but you’re not heading that way. You’re steaming forward into the future of your life. The very best way for you to make that future a great one is to prioritize yourself, your health, and your goals.
So this week, my tip is to seize the day (cue the old-school Newsies soundtrack). Embrace that goal that you’ve tucked away in the back of your mind. Promise yourself that you won’t delay or procrastinate any more, that you’ll do this for YOU, and that you will start on a path that works towards the things you want to do and the goals you want to set for yourself.
Still a little scared to do this?? Buddy check!! All of you, whether you realize it or not, have people in your life who will build you up and will help you along the path to your goals. Friends, family, coaches, children, co-workers. Open yourself up to the possibilities that exist out there for you, and you’ll be amazed at the support that also exists out there for you.
A tree isn’t a tree right from day one. It starts as a seed. Plant your own seed NOW and grow into your potential, friends. You deserve it.
