Susan Doberneck was the only Full Circle Endurance athlete who raced this past weekend; she raced at her first swim meet in over FORTY years! On Sunday, March 26, 2023, she raced at the Sacramento Masters Sprint Pentathlon in Sacramento, California.
Susan participated in three different events: 100-Meter Backstroke, 100-Meter Breaststroke, and 100-Meter Freestyle. In addition to feeling good and strong for all events (which is the most important thing!), I’m so pleased to say that she rocked all three. She finished second in her age group for the Backstroke, first in her age group for the Breaststroke, and third in her age group for the Freestyle!
Susan has her sights set on the U.S. Masters Spring Pool National Championships next month. This meet was a great tune-up and confidence-builder as she heads into her A-Event! As a Masters athlete, she’s yet another great example of how we can keep sport and movement in our lives for a very long time if we take care of our bodies and make good training choices along the way.
Congratulations, Susan!
