Athlete Race Recap: Frosty’s Frozen 5K & The Stone Wall 10K Snowshoe Race

The Winter theme continued this past weekend for Full Circle Endurance athletes; the athletes who did race did so in Winter-themed races!

Frosty’s Frozen 5K - Littleton, Colorado

On Saturday, January 22, 2022, Jennifer Pearce tackled the second event in a series of Winter running events put on by Colorado Runner - Frosty’s Frozen 5K!

Conditions for the race were a bit tricky; there was a lot of ice and the air temperature was COLD!

Jennifer recognized that the race conditions were such that it would not be wise to fully pursue our original goals for this race.  She self-modified upon seeing what conditions were like, and then set out on the course!

She was still able to accomplish several objectives, all while staying safe and remaining-injury free so she can continue to build toward her future goals!

She was rewarded at the end with a MASSIVE haul of snacks!  Colorado Runner gives a HUGE swag bag to everyone who runs their races!

The Stone Wall 10K Snowshoe Race - Lorraine, New York

Dawn O’Shaughnessy took on the challenge of The Stone Wall 10K Snowshoe Race at Winona Forest in Lorraine, New York on Sunday, January 23, 2022!

This event has become quite well-known over the last several years, and some very serious and competitive athletes turn out for this race!

This was the second race in the 2022 Winona Forest Snowshoe Event Series that Dawn has run.  New snow had fallen the night before the race, which made for beautiful - though challenging! - conditions on the course!  Dawn had a great time tackling the hills and dashing through the snow.
