Strength training should be a foundational component of training for all endurance athletes, no matter what their primary sport is. A personal trainer is not necessarily a strength coach, and when endurance athletes are considering working with a professional for their strength training, they really need to be working with a strength coach who understands the needs of their primary sport and how to safely and thoughtfully include strength training alongside training for the primary sport. This session will discuss the considerations that need to be accounted for when planning strength training and what endurance athletes should look for in a quality strength coach.
